We love Banksy down here in Brizzle! When the exhibition was on last summer the queues had to be seen to be believed. What makes me laugh is that a few years ago the local newspaper and council used to condemn Banksy's graffiti and say he was an anti-social menace, but now he's famous round the world they fawn all over him. I love walking around the city and seeing bits of his art, it really brightens up some otherwise dull buildings.
used to live in brizzle too for a while and his little piece on the thekla used to make me laugh.....{that and the way the loo's tilted after a few too many people were onboard!}
We had a fantastic graffiti guy up here in Leeds, but the council jailed him, so that was the end of that....
I'm so excited about this!! <3

Ah, Thekla. Did you know it got bought by a new company and then tarted up? The Banksy's still there though, and the toilets do still tilt!
ReplyDeleteOh no, I bet they have made it all cool and not so much of a dirty drum and bass hole anymore........
ReplyDeleteGlad the Banksy's still there though. But I bet it'd cost them a fortune to paint over it!
